GET READY TO “EXPERIENCE AMAZING” IN AUGUST!

LEXINGTON, KY — The African American Forum, Inc. (AAF) is pleased to announce that the next installment of the Lexus Smooth Jazz Fest will be held on Friday, August 13TH… culminating with the "Summer Breeze" Saturday All Star Jazz Showcase on August 14TH.

Friday's event will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lexington-UK Coldstreamlocated at 1801 Newtown Pike in the Coldstream Ballroom.  This concert is presented by the AAF  and funding in part by a Community Arts Grant from LexArts’ Fund for the Arts.  The featured  performing artist for this event will be announced later in July.  

This is a lead up event designed to welcome Lexus Smooth Jazz Fest fans who may be staying at the official Host Hotel for the Jazz Fest—the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lexington—and patrons from the Lexington-Bluegrass Region of the commonwealth of Kentucky.  

 

The price of admission is $25 in Advance and $30 Day of Show, which includes complimentary appetizers Butler Passed and adult beverages. The program runs from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM…and is a two (2) set performance.  

The Kentucky Horse Park will once again play host to the “Summer Breeze” Saturday All Star Jazz Showcase, which features saxsational Jackiem Joyner, guitarist extraordinaire Tim Bowman… and special guest songstress Lyndsey Webster to round out the line-up. 

This is the signature event of the Lexus Smooth Jazz Fest 2021.  All three (3) musical performing artists will headline the signature event of this three (3) day arts & cultural festival that established itself—over the past fourteen (14) years— as the commonwealth of Kentucky’s designation for  Smooth Jazz!

Tickets are tiered from $21 to $80 that will allow Smooth Jazz fans, no matter what their budget to  enjoy an experience like no other this year!  Gates will open at 5:00 PM, dinner, food & beverages  will be served shortly thereafter and the concert will begin at 7:30 PM.

A programming note: Thursday’s free Jazz: Live at the Library series kick-off event, traditionally  held at the Lexington Central Public Library downtown (located at 140 East Main Street) in the William Stamps Farish Fund Theater… has been suspended this year.  As a result of COVID-19,  this collaboration with the Jazz Arts Foundation in partnership with the Lexington Public Library looks forward to being back online in 2022.
