THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FORUM
LAUNCHES NEW WEB-SITE

Site features new look and more purpose-driven approach

June 5, 2007 (Lexington, Kentucky) – The African American Forum, Inc. officially re-launched its web-site www.AAFinc.com today. The African American Forum has been working on the design and construction of the new site since December 1, 2006.

The long journey to launch began with a web audit conducted by Louisville-based advertising agency New West. By conducting a thorough examination of the former site, it was concluded that instead of being purpose driven, the site was essentially event driven. “Although the organization has been known for presenting arts and cultural events from the highest standards of excellence from it’s inception, the time was now to focus more on the purpose of why we exist,” said Debbie A. Cole, Vice President and COO of the African American Forum.

More importantly, the site now has an E-commerce feature that allows visitors for the first time, patrons and corporate supporters to make contributions online in a secure environment. It also allows them to designate which program they want their donation to support.

“The first thing that each visitor will notice when they visit the site is the crisp feel that comes from the color scheme and the streamlined design of the Homepage that welcomes you to our domain,” said John E. Cole III, President and CEO of the African American Forum. The navigation features on the left-side of all pages provide the visitor with a concise guide of places to peruse for more information. The sub-navigation features, listed under each topic, highlight other facets of the heading that may appeal to the visitor. This allows for quick and easy access to information about the organization by making just one (1) click.

A Forum News calendar is located on the right-side of the page to provide brief insight on announcements, upcoming events and programs that the organization is engaged in launching to the public. The Newsroom hot-link at the bottom of the column, allows the visitor to travel to a location where they can read the news brief in its entirety.

A Spotlight feature has also been added to present a narrative about an important announcement, upcoming event or program each week.

The African American Forum is a non-profit arts and cultural organization based in Lexington, Kentucky. The organization is committed to presenting programs that celebrate the African American experience. For more information about the African American Forum, please visit www.AAFinc.com.
